Reading hasn’t been cancelled!! You just have to be a little more resourceful about it right now. This year you will be using the Skyview Library Catalog to search for books online. Every summer, SyncAudiobooks offers free audiobooks for teens. The great thing is, once you download it, it’s yours to keep! Books are available NOW, through July 29, 2020. Here’s how it works.

Another publisher has offered free audiobooks and eBooks during this time of learning from home. The books on this site are geared for ages 5-14, but they are sorted by age group. There are only a few books in this collection, but they are free. Follow the instructions on the link below, but in summary, add a book to your cart, select either the audiobook or eBook option (they will be free), check out (you will have to enter your address), and press the pay button. Make sure you have only the free books selected. Then you will get an e-mail with a link to the books. Enjoy.

He even taught us to find the joy in our current circumstance. What else can we learn from Aiden?
This is currently week 4 of the series (April 14, 2020). This is the perfect virtual get-away for a fun and relatable escape from your own quarantines!

There are a lot of great books on these sites so check them out!!
Don’t forget about the biggest digital library available to KPBSD students!! Sora provides access to KPBSD’s digital library, AND to the Alaska Digital Library, through the Sora App!! All you need is your student ID and password. Watch the “How to use Sora” video in the Did You Know section of this blog for instructions.
